Blog - 8/3/25 - Minimizing Divorce Risk

Before you get married, there are roughly eight dimensions of synchronicity between you and your partner that you should assess, and if you align on fewer than six of these dimensions, then you should reconsider your decision to get married.

1. Age: Large differences in age can be challenging in a long-term relationship.

2. Religion: Are you and your partner going to practice a religion, and if so, is it the same religion?

3. Wealth Expectations: What kind of housing, what kind of car, what kind of vacations do you expect to have with your partner?

4. Number of Children: Do you both want to have children, and if so, how many, or no children?

5. Intelligence: Do you have a similar educational background and similar levels of inquiry and exposure?

6. Are you the same or similar race and ethnicity?

7. Are you aligned on politics?

8. Do you get along with each other's families?
